The devastating explosion has hit an already fragile situation. Vulnerable women and girls can now add homelessness to their hardships, which include economic insecurity, insufficient medical facilities, little protection from the growing coronavirus pandemic, and increasing risk of gender-based violence.
Our team on the ground urgently needs:
- Medical equipment and supplies, including dignity kits containing essential sanitary items
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) to shield our midwives and expectant mothers from the coronavirus
- More midwives and trainers to support staff in health facilities damaged by the explosion
We are working to respond to the emerging needs of over 140,000 women and girls who have been forced to flee their homes. This includes around 3,900 women who are currently pregnant and in need of maternal health-care services.
Donate today to ensure these women and girls receive the immediate support they need.
